Took my 6yr old boy down to the lake after momma got off of work. He loves to fish and we always tease each other about who is the better fisherman, well last night I had to cheat to stay even with the boy. It started off with everyone around us catching fish they were fishing straight out off of the grass in the little park area they were using a slip weight and rainbow power bait but we didnt have no luck so the boy and i decided at 8pm that it was about time to try the old faithful.

The bobber and worm deal was old faithful, well as we could see the fish moving to the top a couple left from this area I like and I threw his pole in there spot and was heading back to grab mine and the other stuff and the little runt had a fish on and brought it in for First fish between us for the night. Once I finally got him to settle down a bit from harrising me about him being the best I finally got into one and after rubbing it in his face that we were now tied i went to put it on the stringer and of course I dropped the fish in the water after grabbing it 3 times and it flopping back out of my hands each time it swam away and then he started in on me again that if it aint on the stringer then it dont count :(

The fish were bitting but we couldnt get them to stay on for the next hr as we were almost ready to call it quits there was this noise to our left in the water I told him to go see what it was, he was like hey dad come here theres a fish trying to swim up this little pipe area I said be still and sneaked over there to see yep here was a 10 incher swimming in the current trying to go up this pipe I told him watch this I did the fast as lightning deal and grabbed it with my bare hand and threw it up onto the grass and then told him now we are tied then he tells me hey thats cheating it finders keepers as he had seen it first.

Betcha he never see's someone do that with there bare hands again lol

All in all its a great little place to hang with your kids and have some quality famiy time and get some fish it is still possible to get your limit at this place.
