Once again better judgment has been clouded by my need to go fishing. I was able to finish work Friday and get on the water by 10:30; line in the water. When I arrived and was setting up my boat/gear the wind was blowing fiercely and was bitter cold, but I'd came prepared for the worst weather; this is Washington anyways. Lucky for me, the weather did warm up a little, but just enough so that the precipitation now falling was rain/snow mix along with that great wind. Good times. Then the wind died and it got colder and I was fishing in white-out blizzard conditions; beats the rain any day! Finally about four hours in (after one or two unsuccessful hits) I had one hooked good and to the boat. A brown measuring about 14 inches and fat. Then about forty minutes after that my pole dove so hard I thought my massive four pound test was going to snap...luckily my light action whuppin stick too up some of the beating and I got another about the same size to the boat. Fished for another hour before deciding one a.m. was going to come early for me and work the next day and called it good. The water temp had cooled about a full degree from last week's outing (no report, but my bro got a 15 1/2 inch cutt to my 16 inch cutt and FAT 13 bow) and the water temp that day was the same as the previous week's trip even though the air had cooled immensely. I tossed in a pic of those ones too. I wasn't going to keep the cutt as they were in spawn but my bro REALLY loves trout so it was up to him. Until the spawn's over, I'll be releasing all my spawn colored fish. All in all a good day on the water, even though my boat was full of snow/ice/water from the night before and ended up with a good four gallons of water from the snow-melt and rain from the day. All in good fun here in sunny Washington State.
