I highly recommend this lake to anyone interested in fly fishing. I have only started fly fishing this year and can go out to mission lake and catch trout and coho on top water until I'm blue in the face. The hatch right now is anything with an olive body. Best bet is a sparkling or blue wing dun. Also the black gnat is working well. I have been hitting this lake 3 days a week for a month and have been fishing mostly dry flies although streamers and nymphs have been working for other anglers. the average rainbows have been 8-10"'s although 12"'ers are not uncommon. Cutts are present but slow ranging 4-13"'s.cohos average 6" but fight like the dickens. This has got to be the best lake to fish for someone looking to get into fly fishing.
