After coming home from a successful memorial day grouse hunting trip I decided to go bass fishing for a couple of hours on my private lake (that I live two blocks away from). The sun was setting so I knew that big ones would be feeding this time of day. I rowed the small aluminum boat to my favorite spot of the lake where I catch the majority of my fish where is locatd near lillypads and other vegetation that the bass use for cover. My second cast using a floating silver rapala I hooked and landed a huge bass!! It was 18 inches long and weighed almost 6 pounds. It had a very large girth which I didn't measure but it was around 17-18 inches. It fought like crazy and took lots of drag. This was my largest bass I had ever caught. I released it hoping that I can catch it again some day.
