I knew about this lake before I finally went, but I didn't know anyone who had been there so I didn't know what to expect. But, I'll tell ya, you'll be kickin' yourself on the way there, but it's worth the INSANE climb to it. Not for the weak of knee.It is somewhere in the Olympic Mountains, I'll tell you that much. It is one of THE most beautiful lakes I've ever been to. It has slightly murky Aquatic Blue water, almost like the Carribean. It is surrounded on most sides by sheer rock walls and sub-alpine firs. Since I didn't have my fly rod with me (which I would have ran back up the hill to get, and that's saying alot), I couldn't see what kind of trout they were but I would guess there were little Brookies about 5-7 inches, keep in mind it is an alpine lake. Don't expect to catch any trophy trout. Well, if you do happen across this lake like I did, PLEASE, observe all Leave No Trace principles to preserve this High Lake. But I must accent the climb to it as much as possible, it is a beautiful climb, but VERY, VERY, steep.
