Woke up after camping out at the "spot". It looked like rain but I wanted to fish this spot badly. Glad I did! Again (see other reports posted by me this w/e) I tied on either a Green Wolly Bugger, a green Carey special, or a Prince beadhead nymph and made the usual presentations. I was immediately rewarded with an active, jumping Rainbow! I went back and forth past their hangout and caught 10 more just like him (13 inches, full of fight and fat and sassy!) They all did some aerial acrobatics for me, along with inspired runs, to shake that annoying hook. I tried the wolly bugger with the prince trailing it by 3 feet and I had 2 of the fighters on at one time! Talk about action! Best action since August in the Wind River range (Wyoming).
This lake is not obscure, just isn't thought of as a "fishin" lake, but ....... it is. Oh yeah, a water boatman was ignored this weekend.
