Finally found a "secret" lake that I was told about a few years ago by Tyler Laurenti, a hardcore fly fisherman whose postings can be found on this site. It's located around North Bend, but not where you might be thinking. Anyway, I visited it on a recon mission with my fishing buddy, Brad. We found that there is probably only one spot from where a person can fish the lake. I went through two patterns before I found the magic one. A beautiful 12" cutthroat slammed the marabou leech pattern only 2 seconds after it hit the water. It was a wonderful fight! I stopped fishing after that, as Brad was without rod and I felt little bad about leaving him as a spectator. Besides, it doesn't take much for me to get my ya-ya's out when fishing. I would tell you all the name and location of the lake, except that it seemed very likely the lake wasn't stocked and the fish probably had a means of naturally reproducing. Fragile waters. Sorry about that.
