Took my kids to our secret Mackinaw lake. Special thanks to Dave AKA FFF for showing me this wonderful gem. We started fishing at 7:30am and hooked our first one of the day at 9am. Matt caught a 3.5 lb laker at 65 ft in 105 ft of water on a large Husky jerk. The next fish took awhile but was worth the "weight" as James pulled up an 8.5 brute from 100ft in 110 ft of water. He caught his on Anton Jone's patented Worden's M-2 luminescent chartreuse plug. The last fish of the day came shortly after, as I worked and caught a 2 lb laker at 170 ft on the rigger in 179 ft of water.

We released the 8.5 and the 2 lber unharmed but had to keep the 3.5 due to a tangled messed in the net and severe hook damage. It was good to teach James the importance of releasing that big fish to get even bigger for someone else. I know the picture shows the fish hanging but I did spend many minutes carefully reviving him and he swam away under full steam. I'm looking forward to hitting this lake again as I think the deeper holes may hold more fish than I had previously thought.
