Saw the skookumchuck was dropping back into shape, so I headed down for the afternoon to try and find some steelhead. There are a lot of dark fish in the river ...a few bright ones too...ended up taking home one little 6lb buck pretty chrome, and caught two others both native both released. The bigger buck was an absolute toad...fought like 20 lb plus fish was more like 14 or 15...couldn't have been more than 30in...but boy he was thick...a wiley veteran...jumped flipped tail danced all over then ran downstream under a log ...somehow I got him outta there after about 10min of pressure and then feeding him line , pressure feed line, pressure feed line....netted him for a quick pic and off he went. best steelhead fight to date...or at least best where I ended up landing the fish. good luck go get em.
