Fished for a couple of hours trying to track down a metal head, or cut, but ended up with the 28" Buck Coho. Caught on a #3 Blue Fox Vibrax - silver/blue. 7'6" Noodle rod with 6/30 braid. Thought I was snagged at first but then it moved a bit. Took a couple of minutes to bring it in. Love the" big C"/ constant pressure you can put on them with a noodle rod. Smaller fish stayed with it all the way to the bank. Released it to go make more.

Cylvertip nicely done. The day's when the Pilchuck regularly put out steelhead in the "teens to mid-twenty's" unfortunately are now all good stories told by those who caught them and are still alive to talk about it. :(

I've heard those stories as well, I also heard the Wallace used to be that way; were it wasn't unusual to catch 20lbs steelhead.

wondering only what part or area do you fish the river at , spent a lot of time there as a young boy with my parents also had an aunt who lived close to the creek , would get a ride from the house by my dad to a spot known as the Big Rock just up from the cement bridge only I would go the the other way up the creek fishing rod in hand be gone all day till dark most times this was before any of the house's built along the river
along the Bryant Stanwood road coming from Hwy 9 going west and crosses to Stanwood if you know where this road is long ago maybe 50
some years ago wow hard to belive but when I saw this report just had to ask ?

greenboater, that is Pilchuck Creek, I was fish the Pilchuck River which runs past Granite Falls and dumps into the Snoho at Snohomish. Both waters are about the same size. I fish Pichuck Creek as well, usually around the I-5 crossing area. Nice cuts, steelhead, and salmon depending on when you try. For the Pilchuck River there are good options above and below Granite to get on the river. The kicker is it is only open for December and January. That and the attack otters...

Per WDFW website, Pilchuck River is not part of the emergency closure. You can go to the address listed below for the info.
https://fortress.wa.gov/dfw/erules/efishrules/rules_freshwater_river.j?body_of_water_id=1691
Pilchuck Creek is closed from the mouth to Hwy 9.
I was fish the Pilchuck River near Granite Falls.

Checking Pilchuck Creek Regs for the emergency closuer,, it looks like the closure only affects game fish, so sea run salmon would still be open as they are a food fish.

Reading this in the freshwater section of the pamphlet, yes, it does appear that way:
All FRESHWATER areas are CLOSED
to fishing for SALMON, DOLLY VARDEN/
BULL TROUT, LAMPREY, and GRASS
CARP.
Fishing for COMMON CARP, SHAD, or
FORAGE FISH is open only during open
Game Fish or SALMON seasons.

The coho was an incidental catch, and it was released,

fish it anyways.... Screw the state and the tribal dominance.... New reports out show the commercials and the tribals saw a 300% catch over sports fisherman.... so much for 50/50

Saturday was a total blank - maybe a couple of missed lite bites, but that was it. Saw 5 other guys come through . The ones I talked to had blanked as well. They where wading and headed back down stream to their starting point. One guy came buy on an inflatable pontoon, did not ask if he had any luck. Two other guys stopped, geared up, fished for 10 or 15 minutes, and then boogied. Took them longer to gear up than they spent fishing, but they may have been hole hopping. Nice day to be out none the less.
