The Fishing was very slow. Water was as clears as can be and on the bank, we were fishing only 2 fish were hooked up all day. The bite was tuff. 1 fish was landed. Every one on the bank was plunking with small spin an glows with either roe or sand shrimp on the hooks. Lots of salmon smolt were in the river were there but most were being eaten by river otters, small fish etc. The conditions were amazing out there and definitely a place I will be going to again.

Wynoochee is best starting in very late Feb to March and ending around April

I've been fishing the nooch for a long time and the best time for hatchery fish is now through mid Feb. After that there's still hatchery fish but a lot of natives mixed in.

The nooch closes March 31st.

You guys are right about it closing march 31st but I have had better later in the season but that's probably due to the fact that I live to far away and choose not to fish it until after most puget sound rivers are closed
