Awesome day on the river. Got the afternoon off and decided to go try for some late coho begfore the river closes for salmon, had to fight off the urge to drive an extra 45 minutes and go for steelhead but it was the right choice. Got to the spot and saw some bright fish holding on the edge of the pool. Threw a twitching jig and got nailed about 10ft out. Landed one dime bright hen and had two other takes. Also saw a few fish rolling and swimming by while I was fishing. Great day on the river! Only a couple weeks left for salmon and there are definitely some bright fish to be had.

Beautiful! I caught a wild buck that was in the mid teens last weekend and it was chrome bright. Saw a few other nice ones as well. Yesterday I decided to take the latter and drove the extra 40 mins to look for steel but was disappointed when I got there. You made the right choice. Were you up high?

I might add, all the fish Ive seen lately have been wild as well. You lucked out with that one!

Yeah I was down below Schafer Park a ways and was really surprised to see as many chromers as I did holding in pools. Yeah definitely more wild than hatchery fish seem to be moving in, talking to quite a few guides it seems to be about 75% wild and 25% hatchery, but hey, gotta love catching fish!
