I got to the river around 745am and didnt get in the water until about 815am. Found the water to be high as expected but still gave it a shot. First started fishing eggs under a float with my centerpin and finally got the wallace cast down ( wallace cast on the wallace river haha) anyways, tried a couple of spots and maybe had 1 or 2 light take downs. still trying to get the hang of centerpin casting. after about an hour of nothing decided to move down river and met with a friend that i fished with before. decided to free drift eggs and 2nd cast fish on! It definitely wasnt the biggest fish but it was a chrome hatchery jack.30-40 minutes had 2 other fish on but didnt set the hook that well and they came off. 11am came around and started to notice that my leg was getting cold found a nice leak in my waders and gave it one more cast before i head home, just at the end of my drift felt a good take and another chrome hatchery jack. packed my gear and made it home.

I wouldn't call it funky. On an average year the Wallace gets 4500-6500 and that's with an open season throughout Sept and Oct. This year they decided to wait until the Wallace got most of its fish back to the holding tanks that they get on a normal year before they opened it. Makes my blood boil but what do you do.
