Decided to hit the Duwamish early Sunday morning, who knows how much longer this season will actually last.
Made it to a bank down there around Boeing field at around 0730, there were already several guys on shore with their gear out but not fish.
I twitched a couple different aero jigs in various colors with no luck. I then began throwing everything I had at them, blue foxes, twitching jigs, metal jigs, crankbaits, and even jerk-baits. No luck and nary a bite. I think I snagged up and lost gear about 4 times and that is pretty much enough to make anyone go a bit mad.
The one bright shining moment came while twitching a bright chartreuse jig and hooking into a big fat gnarly looking 8 pound buck. I fought him for about 10 minutes and noticed that he was leading me in a really strange way. Pulled it along the shore and noticed that he had a giant 6" gash through the tail - must have been from a boat prop. I was right about to gill grab him and then he kicked hard, pulled me knees deep into the river, shook the hook, and flopped back into the Duwamish!
I ended up muddy and soaked. All the Coho seemed to be lock-jawed and rolling.
