Long day of exploring yesterday. Haven't really spent much time on the Snoqualmie river in the past. Spent the entire day exploring different holes. Had a great day of exploring but not super productive on the catching aspect. I started the day a little lower on the Snoqualmie and worked my way towards the Tokul creek area. Had a few bites and actually had one on the hook near the mouth of the Tokul but didn't land it...0/1 for me. Tried all sorts of methods. Drifted eggs, floated a bead, floated a jig, drifted a spoon or two. Even got my fly rod out for a bit. Did see two fish caught. One was a nice buck on the Tokul (which I fished for about an hour and lost four hooks...not the type of fishing for me). The other was a small buck caught right next to me. Overall, a productive day of finding new places to try for Steelhead when I don't have as much time to get out and spend a whole day up on the Sky. Hopefully after this shot of rain we're having, we'll get a few more in.

Unfortunately with no hatchery plan in the immediate future due to the recent suit by WFC, the days of fishing the Snoqualmie are numbered, great you had a little action!

Is the Tokul still an operational hatchery?

Not for hatchery Steelhead release on the Snoqualmie, but still raising trout for lake stocking apparently.

That's really too bad. I didn't realize they completely stopped raising hatchery steelhead. I knew that it was a possibility earlier this year. Washington is going to turn into California in regards to Steelhead return if we're not careful. If you haven't seen it, watch Rivers of the Lost Coast. Good movie showing how we can ruin one of our best resources. I guess the argument can be made either way for or against hatchery fish but personally I'm for more fish in the water.

I don't think summer fish were part of the WFC lawsuit, may be wrong, but I don't remember them being included.

This is actually in King County, for what it's worth. ... I have tried that spot twice already in January with no luck. Good for you hooking up, and thanks for your encouraging report from that hole!

It's actually listed under Snohomish county on the website....so to report you have to find it under Snohomish county. I believe they list the rivers based on where they dump into....but I'm not sure. That's just where I found it.
