12/17/2015 9:16:00 AMSalvelinus malma is anadromous, like our bull trout, but salvelinus malma lordi is mostly fluvial or lacustrine, which means it either lives in deep lakes and spawns in feeder streams (lacustrine) or lives in rivers and spawns in small tributaries (fluvial).
Anadromous and fluvial bull trout are in our rivers right now as it is their spawning season here, which leads me to the conclusion that what you have is nearly certainly a bull trout and not a dolly varden. A dolly has a different head/body shape, and imo is more colorful than a bull trout, so it looks like a bull too.
