Me and my partner spent the last couple of Sundays launching out of Cusick to get on the fall bite. Both days were very slow as we only boated a few fish. Using senkos, and tubes. We were also throwing cranks and chatterbaits, but was slow at best.
While fishing pilings I threw a 4" senko at a group of 6 pilings right smack in the middle and felt a little bump, I lifted the rod and felt a little wiggle and bam, hookset. Immediately the LMB went around a piling and I had to finesse and muscle him out of the pilings, than my line got hung up on a piling splinter. Keep in mind the water is moving and I' drifting away. My partner grabbed the piling and was able to lip lock the fish and bring it into the boat. 1/2 credit goes to him. Beautiful fish and was released for others to enjoy.
Water temp was at 52 degrees, and the day was gorgeous.
