Finally had the opportunity to head to the main stem of the Nooksack at the river road access, its now open and fishable, signs are posted and there is an appeal process by the landowner in court....
Today was not a great day at all, in fact one of the worst experiences I think I've ever had on this river...
Let me 1st say that some folks are disgusting and have no morals ! ( yes I know some are bad apples and not everyone is an -sshole) Not only was there feces on the shore but also a fire pit dug and still smoldering from someone night fishing. There were no cars at the parking area when I pulled in at 715am.. For those who have to take a number 2, take a bucket, some t-p and some baby wipes..... For those who need fire, put it out @!!@!@#@! I thought there was a NGHT TIME CLOSURE IN EFFECT ?
The 2nd thing that really bugs the living daylights outta me is the fact that when your drift fishing, DRIFT FISHING, don't come 10' to my right, talk to me for a minute then Ker plunk your plunking gear 5 ft. to your left.... leaving me with no room at all... RUDE RUDE RUDE.. Yes I moved, but you had no right to even call me the -sshole and proceed to flip me off for saying something to you KEVIN! ( AND YES YOU READ THIS BOARD! )
Now that that is out of the way.... I Fished multiple access points, and under the river road bridge with no success.. Only a smolt about 9 inches long on a wee dick nite 50/50.....
Finally tried ANGIES EGG CURE but lucked out, I don't think it was BAD EGGS, more like no fish !
There was a nice guy out there who stated there was access to the river at West wiser lake road ? I did go down the road but never found any access available. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW THEY ACCESS THE RIVER FROM WEST WISER LAKE ROAD??? Supposedly a fence line you walk? Any GPS coordinates? any help would be very helpful..
WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE WDFW FOR THE PROMPT ACTIONS THEY TOOK AGAINST THE LAND OWNER THAT PUT UP THE FENCE AND GATE AT RIVER ROAD.......
Stopped on my way home at the north fork at mosquito lake road and fished next to two guys who were trying to floss ( so they say ) SNAG remaining spawned out humpies/kings/fish with treble hooked vibrax spinners... Not sure why they would want them spawned out dying rotten fish!
Lets all hope we don't have a river closure due to lack of COHO......
