With the Green closed to Coho, I used the opportunity to go check out the Snoqualmie. Hit the river at the Tolt mouth at 7am. Beautiful foggy morning. Lots of trout or smolt surfacing with a few salmon mixed in here and there. I pinched the barb on my jig and went to work. About 15 minutes later when my jig was nearly back to my feet it stopped dead then took off. Turned out to be a hooked-nose fall-red Coho buck about 5-6lbs. Played it for a few minutes in the shallows thinking I might try to take a pic, but it decided it had played enough and spit my jig out. Worked the area until 8a without any more action before heading off to work.
Glad I had the opportunity before they closed the river!
