Went to fish Skykomish but it was high and muddy. Headed to Wallace and found out I couldn't cross the railroad tracks without getting a ticket and having Sheriff come. People cross tracks all over the state but due to a death they have decided to crack down on the Wallace. Stay tuned I am calling my Attorney to see about Easement rights. So I ended up at the hatchery and saw some guys carrying out one dark and one nice coho. Then I went down to fish in front of the creek and saw one guy lose one and catch a chromer on bobbers and eggs and some "secret corkie" - shrimp. So some salmon have got up that high. I wish I could fish next week as I'm sure fish will be all over the Sky. More and more access is getting lost due to poor our foolish behavior by sportsman. Please pack it out garbage. I will continue to pack out others garbage when I can even though the idiots that do litter don't care. Just consider it a RAK for the environment and the sport.

Thanks for the report. Good to know the Sky is muddy. Sorry about the trash. I always bring something back too. I doubt anything is left from people who take the time to read this site.

I do hate to say it here or on facebook but IT IS illegal to cross BNSF tracks anywhere! IT can result into a fine and/or jail time. BUT what you can do is to research and try to contact BNSF and see if they would make a LEGAL crossing for us near the mouth of the wallace. I know some people who for for them and i'll see what I can do. The mouth is my favorite spot.

So at the mouth, you can "parallel" the tracks and cross UNDER the trestles. Same thing with HWY 2. Can you please share all the details without getting moderated? :)

I am curious whether we can legally walk on the rocks that the tracks are built on. And who stopped you, that story would be cool to read.

Thanks

They have claimed it is a environmental issue with parking area at reese rd. someone bought the house that has some kind of influence. they are not stopping any crossing at any other location.......

I was told by a biologist at the hatchery last spring that WDFW bought a parcel of land on the lower river (near the trestles) that they are going to build a ramp/parking lot at. Will probably take a few years to happen but the land is there's and that's the plan.
