Arrived at Lost Lake about 7:30AM. Started fishing about 8:00AM. Was using bobber at first, but to no avail. Switched to fishing off bottom with power bait nuggets (Green) and within 20 minutes had first Rainbow trout. About 17" long, very nice trout. Rebaited my pole, cast it, and before I could get it back into my rod holder, had another one on, about the same size as first one. The very last trout I caught was a brute, about 19"-20", had him on the gravel bank, hook came out of his mouth, he was flopping around, so I quickly grabbed him with my wet hands, and he started squirming again and shot right out of my hands back into the lake. I was sick to my stomach to say the least as I watched him swim away. The biggest trout I ever caught, lost. I guess you can't win them all. It seemed the closer it got to noon, the deader it got, the bite was off. All fish were rainbows, I was kind of hoping for some brook trout as well, maybe next time. I'm definately going back.
