After a morning on Clear Lake, I wanted to give the Puyallup a try. I still hadn't caught my first Pink of the year and today would be my 4th trip.
I got down to the spot and was fishing by 1:30p. Switched up my offering a little based on some reports that I had read on here. I went with two pink corkies, one I would consider medium large and one medium small. I'm sure they have better names, but that's all I know about them. About 3.5 - 4 feet of leader and 3/8 ounce of pencil lead.
This seemed to do the trick, caught three from 1:30p - 2:30p. Then I couldn't get the hook to stick for the next hour or so. It started getting busy and I had enough fish for myself, so I ended up calling it quits around 4p.
Felt good that a dad next to me asked me about my setup, I showed him and told him what I was doing, he set up his younger son (who was wading in rain boots and shorts) and he was able to land himself a Pink. Also had some nice conversations with guys around me. Today was a good day.
