I've been scouting the river and have seen many fish on the bank. You just have to be there at the right time. It seems there is no real pattern. Other than early light always produces a bite. Yesterday at went down just before the Seahawks game and saw one group of guys with 6 fish between them. One Pink had to be almost 10 lbs. They were a friendly bunch and shared their best advice. Today I got there at about 7:00 am and it was slow then about 8:00 the bite came on and they were catching from shore and in the boats. So I got ready to launch my kayak and low and behold had everything except the jigs. It could have been a real bummer but someone told me there would be another bite at the tide change. So I went home and came back in the afternoon. I went 2/4 but the bite was only on for about 1 hour. It was a hoot catching pinks from the kayak with a ten foot noodle rod and light gear. I actually had a fish in the net and was taking out the jig when the fished jumped out of the net. Fortunatly the jig was still in it's mouth so I was able to play it some more and net it again.
Kuddos to the guys in the boat next to me for giving me some tips and sharing some food. It was a great sunny day and quite an experience.
