8/20/2015 8:28:00 AMI can also say that I cannot remember a single occasion when I was fishing for salmon and used a 2' leader. Not drifting, not trolling, not back bouncing, not bobber dogging..... never. I believe that leader length is dependent upon the type of fishing you are doing and the depth and speed of the current. I played around with leaders ranging from 3.5' to over 8' and found a little over 6' to be the best for the conditions in which I was fishing. If you can catch salmon with a 2' leader than great. To each his own.
