Went out today with Cris Hoag. We started at 3pm and fished until 8:30 pm water temp was 62 degrees was cloudy and over cast. Chris was using a floating fly line and used a red bead head and hooked up right away a little guy that was quickly released. After that it was pretty slow with a hit here and there he tried every combination and drew a blank. He did get one take later on but broke him off bad leader.
I was using a full sink fly line but was completely out of black and olive wooley buggers. I had one black with gold ribbing and got a strike right away then nothing after that. After that I tried every fly in my box and drew a blank. Then about 7:30 pm I switched to a leech patter with a gold body and black ribbing and tail hooked up right away with a nice little pound and a half triploid, after that I hooked up with three more trout all ranging between 13 and 15 inches. The trip started slow for me but ended on a good note. No matter what it was a great day on the lake.
