Fished the South Fork of the Snoqualmie off of Exit 38 on Saturday from about 1:00-4:00 PM. This was my first time fishing this river so I wasn't sure what to expect and although the fish were small (don't think I had anything over 7") there was action a plenty. I had really just gone out with the intention of teaching my son to cast with a spinning rod/reel, and in demonstrating how I hooked a small rainbow on my first cast! After about 3 hours I landed (and released) 2 rainbows and 2 cutthroats, and my son got 1 rainbow as well and we had at least as many bites/hook ups that we didn't land (restricted gear rules). However, as much of my time was spent teaching, unsnaging, and untangling my new angler, I think the number would have been many multiples of that had I been alone. Pretty much every ripple, hole, rock we tried seemed to have hungry fish. Again never saw anything big, but it was alot of fun. Shimano reels, light action rods; size 1 Panther Martin Spinner (gold spinner black and yellow body; copper spinner and body).
