even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while...
I took this AM off to go fishing for Steelhead. Went to the Big Eddy at first light and waded out to the "island" Very windy, and upper 30's. About 10 others there. after about an hour and no fish caught by anyone, I was thinking I would be skunked again. Then after I had reeled in my cast, I lowered my rod and was was messing with my reel. I lifted my rod to cast and thought I was snagged right in front of me but I felt a tug, so I stepped back as I tried to set the hook, but fell backwards over a rock and was laying in 24 -30 inches of water. My waders filled up and I was soaked. I held my rod high and someone helped me up and I landed that fish. my boots were full of water and I was soaked, I fished for another hour until I was really cold. went to my car, took off my soaked pants and socks and sweatshirt and then put my waders back on and fished a few more hours.. I tried all the regular spots but caught nothing. I did not see any other fish caught in the river all morning 7- noon. most people left after trying a few hours. thanks for the hand warmers - Boyd?
next time I will bring a change of clothes
