Fished the stilly this morning. After last nights fast and successful trip, figured first light would be outstanding. However first hour of daylight was DEAD. After the first hour or so fish started showing themselves and I caught nice little hen(coho) on a spinner. Started twitching jigs and hooked up with several chum for some nice long fights...always love fighting chum. Guy just up from me broke his rod on one of the chum. Then I get a hit and knew immediately I had my second coho(reel didn't scream like with the chum), I was in a postiton that landing a fish would not be likely, so had to work my way to a position I could land the fish. Sure enough it was a silver....best day on the stilly this year. Another hen, still not the "B" run fish that should be in there by now.
There where several people fishing with many chum being caught. Only saw one other coho caught by a buddy of mine, and then there was the one hooked by the clown using eggs on the other side of the river. He hooked what I am sure was a silver, but clearly had NO clue of what he was doing(aside from using eggs with selective gear rules)the way he handled having a fish on his line was very comical, almost hilarious, almost falling in the water at one point. It was only about a 5-6 pound silver!

Nice fish! Sad that he did not know about the selective gear rules.

bencotton909- with water high and dirty now, any silvers will be right at your feet.....right along shore line.
