the lower river was high and muddy but nice, low and clear up by my place. lots of coho and chinook around. the cutts were not to active. tossing size 0 mepps and little wolf spinners. several male coho found the hooks but were all released, can't keep them up where we are not that I would keep a red one anyway. 1 wild steelhead was released also, about 4lbs. the prize catch of the day was a hat floating down the river.
stopped off up at the bingham creek hatchery and watched them sort fish for awhile, several hundred were in the pen.
poured down rain all morning.
chatted with my neighbors who told me a guy on an atv crossed the river and got stuck climbing they're bank with a bunch of salmon snagging gear. there is a public access across the river he went from. they quickly got rid of him.
