Hit the Green on my lunch break Wed. 10/1. I knew it was going to be decent when I immediately saw 4 or 5 fish surface. Decided to start by bobber dogging some eggs in a hole that I have caught many fish before. Got set up and started working the water. I was working some wood that lies in the hole and on my fifth drift, I had a player. As soon as the bobber dropped, I set the hook and it was instantly game on. When the fish felt he was hooked, he exploded from the water with two quick jumps away from me. I was quickly able to get him turned around and headed back toward me. He held for a second with a few head shakes and then must have seen the wood he just came from because he headed straight for it. I knew that if he got back in that wood, that he was gone so kept the pressure on him. When he realized that I wasn't going to let him get back to his spot, he must have just given up because he swam right at me. I put the net in the water and he pretty much swam right into it without much more of a fight. When I got the fish to the net, it was a 4-5 pound slightly blushed buck. I thought about putting it back in hopes of a brighter female for eggs, but I opened his mouth to get my hook/line back and I saw why he must have given up. He had completely INHALED my offering. There was no way to get my hook back without killing this guy. So, I bonked and marked the card. I didn't have much more time to spend before I had to get back to work, so instead of messing with eggs I broke out the hardware rod. I started casting and retrieving a #5 Vibrax (chart/nickel) and after 6 or 7 casts, I had a violent take down. After a brief fight, I reeled in a sea run cut around 15-16 inches. Beautiful fish. Luckily I outfitted all my spinners with barbless siwash hooks, so I was able to release it without issue. I would have gotten pics, but I like to get fish unhooked and released as quickly as possible if I'm not going to keep them. I was just surprised at how hard this guy slammed the spinner for his relatively small size. I kept casting for a few more minutes and was able to get one more arm wrenching takedown, but the barbless hook seemed to be my demise on this one cause it was gone just as fast as it had hit. So, overall, not a bad day on the water considering I wasn't out for very long. I'll take 2/3 in less than an hour any day. The meat on the coho was still fairly firm and orange, but after being spoiled with so many fish from the salt, I think this one is going to see the smoker. Hopefully fishing stays decent, but a little rain would definitely help a bit.

"YOU MUST TELL ME WHERE YOU WERE FISHING, HOW YOU WERE FISHING, EVERYTHING! You owe it to everyone to tell us exactly how to fish and where to fish! Exact locations! Exact colors! Exact everything!"

Internet anglers need the info so they dont get blisters putting in the work themselves.

haha just joking, good talking with you gfakkema!
