Finally got into my first silver on the Puyallup this morning. Did not land it. I was distracted and honestly thought I was on another snag until it jumped. I saw only one other fish and he landed his. We were there from 7- 9:30. We had our 3 yo grandson with us. He had a great time!!!

congrats! I fished that river when i was in Jr. high in the late 70's and never did get a fish (salmon or steelhead) after maybe 2000hrs of fishing, congrats again! Tough river.

Yes Toni he did. He started out casting with just weight. Moved up to hook and about a foot and half leader with corky and yarn. He was fishing with the "big boys".
Thank you ruffneck. Have put in a ton of hours as well. I have caught pink the last 2 runs but honestly first time hooking into something else. Bound and determined this is my year!!

Pinkpole, I moved to spokane in the 80's and the fishing on the snake and columbia have my average at about 6hrs. per fish (salmon and Steelhead) dont think i could ever fish the puyallup again. Did fish the mouth in the salt in a boat and did really well on silvers though, but seems their mouths get wired shut when they get into the freshwater in the Puyallup.
Congratsagain!
