Fished an hour after low tide this morning, and didn't see many fish jumping during the time I was there. I was drift fishing the first half hour, before I switched over to free drifting. Once I switched over, I started getting bit. They were really aggressive this morning, picking up my offering right after it hit the water. Got into a bunch of jacks and a couple adults. They were all pretty fun to fight on 8 lb line. Left with 2 adults and 2 16" jacks after the river went slack.

You need to change your username to, 'daCohoKiller'.... Good job. Can't wait to get back again, hoping we could hook up and I could learn from one of the best.

Real free drifting involves no added weight.

Sure seems like you had at least a four star day and not just 2 stars. Nice job

thanks losaturn, without weight, how could you tell how deep is your offering? I guess it's not that easy, you must have gone through many experiment to figure out the right amount of egg and corkies.

thanks for your reports, it give me confidence and hope, it become a habit to read your reports, keep up the good work.

freedrifting with no weight is letting the bait drift down the river in a natural presentation. No corkies. The green river is slow enough for the bait to get down there and move along the bottom slowly

Ping pong sized gob of eggs is what I use when freedrifting. You gotta watch your line as there will be some slack. When a fish picks it up, I usually notice the line goes completely slack before peeling off and going taught.

losaturn seems to have it dialed in. I just finished my 7th trip down there since the opener and still not a single fish. I have thrown the book at them and still nodda. Hopefully things will pick up once the nets come out today.

Nice catch @OP

Great job again! Should be getting better and better as the reports in the salt seem to be picking up too so more are headed this way! Hope the bigger "B" run happens this year and they make it through the gauntlet of nets!
