Have been driving past the river this week and seeing lots of people fishing was getting me anxious to break out the fall river fishing gear so had a work-with my produce specialist on Thursday so we planned an early morning call on some coho on the green! I started out drifting eggs and Mark was tossing a dick nite and he hooked the 1st fish but did a catch and release at the rocks; then I hooked one and was able to get in the net! A cute little jack but hey, 1st coho of the season so was happy!
Then this morning Saturday, thought I had a full day to fish so was going to start on the Duwamish and then finish my day on Lake WA but my wife had other plans for me in the afternoon so looked like it was just going to be a river fishing day for me. Met up with Leonard on the river and had a few drive by's before my rod did a nice tap-tap and boom! Set the hook and it was off to the races on this guy! Ripped off some line before I was able to get it close to the net but as soon as he saw Leonard poised there on the bank, screamed back out across again so knew I had on a bigger one then last time.
Finally got her in the net and was a nice fat hen about 5 lb's so got my 1st two coho's for the season and it's a good thing because I am off to CA next week to take of my mom in Napa so no fishing for me until after the 17th! But should be on fire when I return!
