On arrival we heard that there was a father and son team had a 26 fish day. I had a great day with one of my co-worker and my best friend. We targeted Chanel cats and using a variety of baits, we were able to boat 18 fish. the fishing was very intermittent, with long bouts of sitting and visiting, interrupted by 3-4 fish in a row. What was funny, was that every time we said "we'll give it 30 minutes, then we'll quit for the day, the fishing would pick up. Shrimp was the hot bait, but worms and "secret 7" dip bait also worked well. We did catch a couple of bullhead an one tiny smallie. 1-1.5 foot of depth were the most productive waters. We ended up with 18 fish in the live well, which made about 30 lbs of fillets. I love my new electric fillet knife.

Jose,
Sounds like you really hooked up! We went over last Wednesday and fished the afternoon for a couple hours up the Palouse (across the flats and up the actual river) and did zero using liver. I was feeling terrible (flu) even when we launched the boat and ended up going home /Thursday morning which was two days early. We fished the holes up the river and probably should have stayed out on the flats or along the reeds. Where were you? I assume you had not gone up the river. This years seems to be a bit difficult...or maybe it's me which is not out of the question.
