Arrived at the lake about 10:00 AM and started catching fish right away and continued until 4:00 PM. The conditions were ideal- 82 degrees, clear skies, light variable wind. The water was clear and the surface temperature was 68 degrees. Very light insect activity with a few damsel flies. Fished with full sink line using a green wooly leech. Caught and released 15 fish (browns, tiger trout and brooks) all averaging 12-13". I Did land one 17" Brook which was very strong and healthy.
About 4 PM a dust devil (without the dust) came out of nowhere, crossed the lake and went right through the swimming area. It was a spectacular sight to see when it picked up 3 air mattresses and 2 children's inflatable swim toys. They all rose swirling to about 300 ft. in the air and proceeded down the lake to the south end. Two mattresses and the toys finally dropped on the other end of the lake and the third landed somewhere beyond the end of the lake...perhaps in OZ! I'm sure the Munchkins were thrilled to get a new air mattress!
