Fishing for Spring Chinook this past week continued to be very good. We had to deal with some higher that normal water flows that made fishing a little more difficult for a few days but I managed to get my Clients into fish everyday we were out this past week. With the extreme high water mostly behind us the next two weeks will be the best chance at some Clearwater River Spring Chinook for the season. The fishing after high water can often times be fantastic. I have openings this week and most of next week for some incredible Spring Chinook action.

Most of our fish have been caught back trolling divers and eggs along current breaks and behind and around mid river islands. As the water continues to warm up over the next week or so at some point the plug bite will turn on. Once the water temps reach the 50 degree mark we will start to see a lot of our catch come on wrapped plugs. Our favorite plugs are the 4.5 Maglips from Yakima Bait, and K13-K15 KwickFish.

Please give me a call if you are interested in fishing for Clearwater Spring Chinook. I am currently working as an employee of Reel Time Fishing to run my Idaho salmon trips. Give me a call at 208-861-0654 and lets get your trip on the books!

Fish the Columbia, Snake, and Clearwater Rivers for salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon. For drift boat trips on Idaho's Clearwater and Washington's Grande Ronde rivers, we fish out of a 20x72 Willie Drift Boat.
