This report is for the east fork woods creek upstream of pipeline rd, opened as of Saturday, page 29 regs booklet. Statewide general rules.
I reached a pull off area way up woods creek rd, almost to lake roesiger, there was a bridge that stated it was east fork woods creek. So I stopped and fly fished it. Using a Carey special, I landed about 5 or so small cutts all released, maybe 5"-8" I didn't bring my waders, so access was limited. I decided to move on to try to find a bigger hole with bigger fish, I arrived at another small bridge pretty close to the first spot, same thing, small cutthroat, 5"-8". I decided to try at the bridge on pipeline rd, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived, a nice deep slow moving stretch of creek, first cast 9" cutt, I didn't want to stay too long so I kept it. I kept fishing released a few 8" cutts, then I get a decent hit, it actually fought a little, got it in 10 1/2" cutt, kept it called it a day with my limit of 2, c&rd a dozen total. all caught on fly rod/carey special. a very nostalgic outing, reminded me of my youth catching brook trout in streams on the east coast.
