Tough fishing today, started at first light at the Cedar hole with no luck, caught one there a few days ago so figured I'd give it a solid hour with no luck, saw a few fish roll but likely trout by the size of them... walked down to the Mays Creek hole and didn't have any more success. tried fishing jigs in every color and coon shrimp and then jigs with coon shrimp...no luck...looks like a great drift for steelhead just not too many fish in there as far as i can tell....walked down to Shermans to see if i could entice a strike from anything...saw a few really blush coho roll and tons of trout in there but nothing was biting....not sure if there are steelhead laid up in there or not...then drove over to reiters to see what was going on there...water was very low and clear but not many other fisherman. i practically had the whole bank to myself but with the water so low and clear it was difficult to get any type of action. fished jigs and shirimp, saw three other fisherman on my side and five or six on the opposite side. no luck from anyone. my guess is the fish are hanging in the broken water in the middle or a little further up where it gets deeper but regardless didn't see anything there or anything caught. walked down to the mouth of the wallace with no luck there....one guy under the bridge with an array of different baits and no luck for him...walked it all the way down to the skykomish and then all the way back up to the tracks...for anyone who fishes there you know where i'm talking about...nothing in there....no coho, no chum, no steelhead...need a serious rain to bring in these late hatchery fish or it's likely not going to happen....tight lines
