Got to the bridge hole at 11:30, started off throwing a size 3 chartreuse blue fox, hoping for a steelhead, but only spent maybe 20 minutes doing that. Then I went straight for the tailout. I drifted a worm with a 1 ft leader to slide weight with a bead as a stopper. I Immediately started nailing fish bows and cutthroat, one after the other.,unfortunately they were under sized so they had to be released. The bite was,at it's hottest at 1pm. By 2 it started to slow down and by 3:30 the bite was virtually gone. The trout were 90% wild bows ranging from 7" to 13 3/4" -_- and my largest fish of the day was a beautiful hen cutthroat of 15 1/4" which was retained as part of my limit. I also hooked a larger fish of approximately 20" which I saw flash in the water after some head shakes, it got away :( but I had an absolute blast, and for awhile had an audience, which was pretty cool lol. A day to remember. Not one I'll soon forget.

I'm not sure how I forgot to mention it, but I c&rd roughly 50 trout from that hole, they were surfacing all day. I assume there is a large school of them.

Careful Jon, with the reg. regarding fish caught (and released)-- with bait, count towards the limit.
Not busting your chops at all, a lot of people don't think about that one.
I enjoy your reports! Have fun out there!

Pg 19 statewide general rules. In rivers, streams and beaver ponds, while fishing with bait all trput equal to or greater than yhe min. Size count towards the daily limit. I only caught 1 trout over 14", what i did was 100% by the book.

Did you try eggs at any point or just the worm? Great day of fish on!

Were you just using night crawers?

1/4Oz egg weight free sliding shoved a tied red bead 1 ft lead size 4bait holder hook and worm. Theory: trout have gathered to get the, salmon eggs from reds or loose ones flowing by, when I drift my gear they can see my bead from afar, upon closer inspection they find a juicy lively worm and can't help themselves.. It's a pretty deadly drift set up for trout.
