I been checking out the river the last few days since I'm on vacation. I have been down on the Puyallup at 116th st. Also, The last high water changed all the holes, usually when that happens all the sand takes along time to settle. That make for tuff fishing for me. I still haven't hooked a coho on the Carbon this year but it was nice to get out. I bought a new camera also. It is the Fuji Fine Pix xp60 I had the xp10 before and the video was pretty grainy. I was playing with it this morning and the video is clear. I think the river should be good to fish again on Monday or Tuesday. Ill try to take video of twitching jigs.
The carbon has a bunch of spawning chum around but nothing else. I have only been fishing just a couple holes though.
Almost forgot, on the Carbon, I have been fishing at the treatment plant. You can park there without the parking pass now.

Is the Carbon even open right now? Don't have the regs handy, but I could have swore that other guys have posted on here that the Carbon is closed.

Ok...the way I'm reading it, the Carbon is open for hatchery steelhead only right now. Not trying to be an armchair warden...just don't want to see anyone get in trouble.

I just drove to the Puyallup to start fishing. I had the regs in my truck so I looked it up. I did post coho as target fish, but it is only open for steelhead. Selective gear only. I thought it was open for trout until January 15. I wanted to fish for dollies. No problem for saying something about it being closed. I would much rather double check the regs than get a ticket!
