Hello guys, this is my first ever report, I'd like to thank you all for the information you provide.
Went to the Green river with my son, first light is the best time you'll catch one after the other.
This is my first time fishing for Chum, I always read reports of people saying the meat is no good. I haven't cooked any of these yet, I'll probably smoke them and judge for my self.
Here's a couple of pics. Thanks!

Nice fish, they look pretty chrome, want to catch one to try it myself, hope they're good! The meat on some other green river chum posted here have looked pretty good. Thanks for the report.

Welcome and great pictures and nice fish. With chum like pinks, the key is to bleed them right away and pack in ice. Those chrome ones will do great in the smoker!

Thanks for the report n nice fish! How far up the river was you fishing? I went to auburn today and got skunked. They will be good smoked. I smoked some bright ones I got from skokomish and they came out pretty good.

@ SaNFishOn: I was just before the golf course, there were a lot of fish there this week, there are a few spots there where you can fish from and move up and down to different spots.

looks like a silver in the mix.
Also good eggs on these two hens, they are chalk full,
would you mind sharing more details on the location and gear?

Thanks

nice catch! i had chum this week and today was my best meal. tried breading and baking. recipe was dip in milk, then flour, then milk and end with the breading on both sides. you can spice up the breading however you like. bake at 450F uncovered for about 10 minutes.

beer batter and deep fry...You'll love it. Also, dems some fat hens!

I will try some of these recipes, thank you.
I was just north of the Auburn golf course, used pink jig and shrimp.

The milk isn't a bad idea Hepker, that is often used to pull out the muddy or funky taste of lake fish too. I would add some chili flakes and use panko crumbs for mine... used to do muskies and walleye like that!

Might also try making some chum chowder, take your favorite clam chowder recipes and replace the clam with chum chunks!

Bottom 2 fish look beautiful...top 2 are questionable based on outside appearance. One trick that was taught to me is to look at their belly. If the belly is white, you have a much better chance of the meat being nice and bright.
