After having no luck on the Skagit the past two weeks I decided to stay close to home for a change. Couple of my fishing buddies were saying the coho were pretty thick in the nooksack so we hit up the river around lynden this evening and it what a great evening it was! I had no luck last year at all fishing silvers anywhere (most likely due to lack of experience), but today it finally came together. I got my limit in about 20 minutes. First one (the smaller hen) came on a brads wiggler and the second came on an all black jig with a little bit of chartreuse thread holding the feathers on. Will be going back tomorrow evening for hopefully another limit!

Well done!

quick question... why would you catch a fish on one lure and change it 20 minutes later?

haha,

Haha good question. Idk just had a weird feeling about it. Got my first on right away then nothing...the other guys I fished with were using the same exact lure but they didn't catch a single fish. And I also lost the one I was using to a snag so I though what the hell! Turned out to be a very good decision

Nice to see some Coho near Lynden. Were you at the frog ponds or Where we fished when bait opened up on September 1st and you snagged a humpie?

Hey man good to hear from you! I was around the same area we fisged , just across and upriver at that private bar I may have told you of. Heading back there this evening. How'd fishing been for you?

Fishings been pretty good. I've been fishing Dakota creek a bit. Nailed a nice coho there last weekend. Haven't hit the nook in 2 weeks. Having a hard time getting off work before dark. Also been doing alright on the snohomish and skykomish for coho/steelhead.
Thinking of trying night fishing with glow in the dark stuff on dakota since it doesn't have a night closure.

Oh nice. Haven't tried there yet this season but have heard food things. I had no idea you could fish Dakota at night you should definitely put up a report after you do that!
