Looks like everybody caught fish this past weekend up on the Sky/Snohomish river area. We too struck silver on saturday. Fishing with a guide service, three good friends limited on coho and tired our arms out reeling in countless pinks.
Started out launching out of Monroe from the Lewis st launch and heading east, first stop was just up stream a short distance. Backtrolling large green kwikfish with an anchovie wrap was the ticket all day long. First stop yielded several pinks in short order. Suprised me they would bite those large lures, but they did all day long. Moved further up the system in an attempt to shake the pink swarm. It paid off in a hurry. Next four bites were all quality native silvers, all made their way to the fish box. Next stop after the bite in that spot faded again paid off early and often with a steady bite of mostly pinks with a coho or two in the mix. After nearly catching our limits we headed back towards the launch hoping to fill out the punch cards before we checked out for the day. Sure enough the last two spots gave us our biggest coho of the day. With out weighing them I'd say maybe 15+ pounds on a couple of them. Ended the day with nine quality coho. Beautiful day on the water.
Thanks again to our guide and anybody looking to get out on the water for some action give him a call. Expert service and top notch gear will have you reeling in the fish all day long.
