Rated the fishing a "2" only because the weather made it very tough. Windy with occasional whitecaps. My partner and I rowed to the only cove area that was somewhat sheltered, anchored up, and tried chironomids. I had one take on a red sno-cone. My buddy caught one on a fly given to him by a local that wanted the pattern kept quiet. All I'll reveal is that I was reading fish all over the bottom but that there were fish seen finning as well. While on the way back to the launch, I employed my "big-fish" technique; very slow troll of my bugger pattern on a floating line. Within minutes, I had my only fish, a "Spokane" rainbow at 21". We returned later that afternoon for the evening bite. Wind was still there making it pretty hard. We fished the other direction toward the water pipe and I had a hard take on a large bugger pattern. It was a brown by the way it shot out of the reeds. It was gone after 5 seconds. That was the only action for the two hours we were out. Wind made fishing impossible.
