Went out again today but launched in monte instead of cosmo, we heard of fish being caught and with bad weather in the forecast we decided to be closer to home in a more protected area (at least protected from weather, not s***heads!). Fish were biting , caught and released a 15 lb. chinook right off the bat, soaked me trying to get hooks out without netting him, didn't want to cut leader, tough deal to release these fish safely off a canoe.Even with a 4 h.p.outboard he pulled that boat right around!I then hooked a big silver, great fight but after two trips to boatside he pulled free. Heartbreaking!Good to have confidence in knot tying though.Hooks were still there.A jack was caught not long after, Melanie took an adult silver about 22 inches long, deluge began and ran us out. We are running out of days before netting begins in the river at the end of the month.Made salmon fettechini alfredo with fresh and smoked salmon, great dish.Saw a fathyer and son fighting a nce silver, standing without a net looking confused, turns out they forgot their net, we paddled alongside, handed off net, they put it in boat. Highlight of day was seeing their faces when we handed them our net and they landed that fish!On the down side a real boatload of d**** was out, guy starts out taking a leak on the ramp (and this with a bathroom in the lot! I tell him there's a bathroom there and My wife doesn't want to see his junk, halfway through the end of the day they blast between us and another boat 30 yards apart at full throttle ( and they wonder why "we are having a bad day"after flipping them the bird!Oh, well. Takes all kinds, we will be back!Bob R
