Fished the Duwamish near 112th yesterday and this morning. As usual, it was a humpy show while trying to get into some silvers. No silvers to show over the last two days, but did manage a lot of pinks.

I foul hooked a larger humped out buck across the tail this morning, who immediately made a dash for the stronger current, and in the process snapped my rod while trying to horse him back a bit :-(

A very nice gentleman fishing next to us all morning offered up his spare so I could keep fishing. I would be too freaked out about doing any damage to his rod, so I declined and decided to head to work.

Second Shimano Clarus Rod I've busted this year so far. Ugh.

The action was surprisingly hot today considering they've been netting since Sunday. I'm guessing all the rain on Sunday moved a ton of fish into the river before they had a chance to seal off mouth.

I think I'll start moving up river a bit to see if I can get into some coho this week.....

Bummer about your rod. Those foul hooked Pink bucks can give you a workout. I've had a few this season and I'm surprised my line held up frankly. Wondering when the the Coho will start making a strong showing. Seems like it should be any day now. I saw a few on the bank yesterday morning taken by a bait guy.

Im on my 2nd 11'3" Clarus, snapped it in half on the puyallup a couple weeks ago on a fish. I love it because it is so sensitive and have bought a case for it and giving it some TLC! Sportsman replaced it for nothing so that was cool. Haven't fished the D yet but have seen a few coho caught in the lower river by TCC. Puyallup silvers are starting to show in good numbers but still weeding through the pinks to get them. I have left there with my limit of silvers every trip but one. Good luck!

I did the same thing to my cheapy Shakespeare 7 footer on Monday up by Monroe. I had foul hooked a hen in the stomach and the rod broke as I was trying to net it. I really liked that rod.

Yeah, I'm not happy with the Shimano Rods right now. I love how light and sensitive they are, but man, two of them just broke like twigs on me this year. One was 6-10lb, the other was 8-12bl....shouldn't really be breaking off that easy me thinks....

Managed a couple silvers this morning near 112th. it was super slow (thank you nets!) but it seemed like there were more silvers than pinks holed up there this morning. Fished for a couple hours, then decided to take off when I started getting crowded out of my spot by the resident snaggers (reel, reel, rip! reel, reel, rip!)
