Got down to the Sauk at about 6 in the morning at the pullout hiking trail about 5mi north of Bedel Campground. Humpies filled the side channels. That was a cool sight to see. Some coho and GIGANTIC chinook in the mainstem. Caught into some of the pinks but couldn't land anything else. Quite the change from a couple weeks prior when my buddy and I were thick into rainbows, bulls, whitefish, and jack Chinook. My buddy fared better with a C&R 20ish lb Chinook and had a hatchery Steelhead on for a while before it decided to spit the hook. Long day...6mi of riverwalking and then a 5mi bike back to the car...but well worth it. Didn't see a soul all day until we got back to the campground at 3pm.
