Well, we found a break in the pink action to go up and check out the fall chinook action on the old Samish. It was pretty exciting! The fish are there, and in good numbers. Tons and tons of 3 to 4 pound jacks, and plenty of larger fish to be had.
Floating big globs of eggs under a float will garner you plenty of action in the AM, afternoon and evening bite are virtually non-existent. Unfortunately, the river closes in 5 days if they don't change their minds, so get out there while you can.
This trip we broke off on 4 monsters while working for our limits, but the jacks ended up coming in to shore. Since it's two fish and you're done, that's what you'll see in the picture.
