Weekend reports looked promising so we decided to give the Duwi a go. Picked up Bluerock at O-dark-30 and we met KZOO and his friend at the 1st Ave launch at 5:30. We launched, watched the sun and the city wake up as we motored upstream. Didn't even make it to the South Park bridge before the rolling and jumping fish were too tempting not to try for. From there it was all a blur. Fish after fish until the school moved on, then took a little break and the next school would come in. This is pink fishing! We really only changed places because we wanted a change of scenery, the bite was pretty much the same everywhere we stopped. We made it up to the Boeing access road and hung out catching & releasing fish until the outgoing tide, then drifted our way back downstream hooking up as we went. We kept 4 each, I have no idea how many we released. Twitching jigs was definitely the ticket for us today. Nice day, lots of fish and hanging out with good friends. The only thing that could have made it better is if someone would've cleaned em all for us!

That's an incredible day! Congrats. Better than what I've seen happening at 112th.

I'll add that it would've been a better day if someone was netting the fish for us.

Gettem while you can eveyone before the netting starts!

How well does the insulation board in your bow cubby work? I have used radiant barrier insulation (like the windshield shades) that works pretty well. We lined our front cubby with it, just like you did, and it works great for all our food, drink, extra ice, etc.

BentRod - they are on thier way! lundgard - it does great - except when you run out of room for ice!

I'm confused, What's open? Is the Spokane St bridge/Harbor Island open? Or can you only fish from 1st ave bridge to Tukwilla?

GP, now I'm itching to get my 12' boat int he water. Stopped by 112th this morning and it was looking pretty dead. Saw a couple fish on one person's stringer, but nothing happening. Timing I guess. Again, great report and congrats on the fun morning.

Montana sam - check the regs - 1st Ave S bridge is the dividing line - below it (which includes Spokan St) is considered Area 10, above it, is considered the Duwamish river.

Nice fish!! Went by today and saw lots of boats and people catching fish around the 14th street bridge. Montana sam, Area 10 which is downstream from the 1st Ave. bridge opens Sept. 1st so only fishing from upstream of the bridge to the old 99 bridge is open now.. just look for fisherman! Good luck out there!
