My co-worker wanted to try under the 512 bridge by that blue glass building...that spot SUCKS! Lesson learned...from now I'm going to my spots that have been producing and he can either join me...or go to his spots on his own.

So fair warning, there are steep dropoffs in that area! When you go down the main trail by the parking lot, you'll be directly under the bridge...well all the viable fishing spots were taken, so off to the right there a 2 small islands and I saw guys pulling in fish, so of course I wanted to go over there...take my advice, go back up the trail and walk to the next trail that goes down from the walking trail...don't try to wade through the water from under the bridge to the islands! You will fall in a hole...I did! Guess who will be investing in a waterproof cell phone case? This guy! LOL ... My phone is covered in rice as I write this. My own dumb fault for not having it in a ziploc bag at least. There are other steep drops all around that place. I didn't like it at all.

Not to mention, the fishing sucked too. Went 1/5 in 4 hours. There was a honey hole that guys were having good luck in...but nobody else could get in there. They had it locked down. As soon as one of them got a fish on, one of their buddies would move into that guys spot...and so on and so forth. The rest of the area was dead.

Houston Rd and River Rd for me from now on. I'm familiar with those and I know where to look for the productive spots.

Not to mention the co-worker who took me there bailed after only an hour and we had been planning this for a week. I should have bailed and went to one of my spots...but I wanted to give this area a chance. Never again. Wait til I see him at work tomorrow...

So did you go into a murky area and just disappear? Did your waders fill up?! Sorry about the phone...I figured out the front pouch in the front my waders is not waterproof either. Wallet was drenched.

All that water is murky. You can't see through it. I took a step forward and yes, all of a sudden I was up to my chest in water. I got back out fast enough that my waders didn't fill up, but water got in. I always keep my phone inside of the waders, because I never expect to be that deep in water. Lesson learned the hard way.

I guess on the bright side my phone just magically decided to come back on about 30 minutes ago. After I had already placed an order online and drove to the store!!! But it came back on and seems to be working...so that saves me $100. Still never going back to that spot!
